COMBINATION:  This class is designed for primary students ages 5-6 and is more structured than a Kinderdance class.  Students who attend this one-hour, once-a-week class are introduced to movement skills, introductory dance steps, and simple combinations.  Tap is also a part of this curriculum.

7-8 YEAR BALLET/TAP I: This class introduces the student ages 7-8 to classical ballet. Correct placement and body alignment are now of the utmost importance.  Class structure greatly advances as barre work is introduced.  Dance steps and combinations become more challenging.

8-9 YEAR BALLET/TAP II:  This class is a continuation of where Ballet I leaves off.  8-9-year-olds continue to work on correct body alignment as barre work becomes a part of each ballet class.  Dance steps and combinations continue to be more challenging at this level.

9-10 YEAR BALLET/TAP III: This class is a continuation of where Ballet/Tap II leaves off.  9-10 Year students with at least two years of good basic ballet training continue to work on correct body placement and alignment.  Dance steps and combinations continue to become more challenging at this level.  Ballet/Tap II is a prerequisite for this level.

INVITATIONAL I:  All students who are interested in entering the Invitational level I class are required to email the School of Ballet director for guidance before registering. This level of training can be intense and is geared towards those who exhibit the physical attributes and a serious work ethic that would allow them to excel in
classical ballet technique.  Invitational I students are required to take two one and one half-hour classes per week.
Students at this level will meet on Mondays and Thursdays from 3:30-5:00.

INVITATIONAL II A/B LEVELS:  Students are placed at this level by faculty recommendation.

BALLET III: This level of training can be intense and is geared towards those who exhibit the physical attributes and a serious work ethic that would allow them to excel in classical ballet technique and pointe work.  Students are placed in this class by faculty recommendation.

BALLET IV/V/POINTE:  Students are placed at this level by faculty recommendation.

BEGINNING POINTE:  Pointe work will be introduced at the discretion of the faculty according to age, strength, and technical competency of the student.

INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED TAP:  Students at these levels will continue to learn tap techniques on a more difficult level.  Special permission into the advanced tap class is required.

LYRICAL:  Lyrical dance is a blend of ballet with modern and contemporary dance techniques.  Lyrical is performed to music with lyrics to inspire movements to express emotions and cultivate musicality.  This style concentrates on growing the dancer’s individual approach and expressiveness through the fun and energetic movements presented in each class.  Lyrical classes are to be taken with at least two ballet classes per week.

VARIATIONS:  This class is designed for the Intermediate level student who shows an interest in learning various dances from classical ballets such as Sleeping Beauty, Nutcracker, Don Quixote, Swan Lake, etc. Entry into this class is by faculty recommendation according to the strength and technical competency of the student.

ADULT TAP:  The fundamentals of tap dancing will be introduced in this fun and energetic class for adults 18 and up. Dance combinations will be taught with modifications to challenge students of various levels.  This is a great way to get some exercise, learn the art of tap dancing, and make new friends.

11-14 YEAR BALLET/TAP II:  This combination Ballet/Tap II class is designed for the older beginner/intermediate dance student who enjoys a recreational approach to the dance.  A one-hour ballet II class will be taught each week and is a continuation of where Ballet I leaves off.  11-14-year-old students continue to work on correct body alignment as they work at the barre and on center and across the floor combinations.  Tap is also taught as part of this class.  Students will enjoy a half hour of super fun and challenging tap combinations to energetic, upbeat music.
