EASTSIDE’S RESPONSE TO COVID-19

MARCH 14 UPDATE

Good afternoon Eastside family,

We are doing everything possible to keep you updated on our future plans here at Eastside. As of today, our national leaders and local government officials have both declared a state of emergency for our area. Because of this, the plan for this Sunday, March 15 has changed. We will have two online services: our traditional service at 9:30am and our modern service at 11:00am. Our doors will not be locked for those of you who choose to attend; however, we are encouraging you to stay home and worship with us online at followeastside.com/livestream.

Romans 13:1-4 reminds us that we are to “submit to the governing authorities over us. For all authority comes from God and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God”. During this time, we will submit to their authority in light of public safety for all of us. We will come together as a church and do what our national leaders have asked of us…. we will pray for our nation during this unpredictable time.

Tomorrow, childcare will only be provided for infants up to kindergarten during our worship services. If you choose to come to our campus, we ask that your elementary aged children sit with you. We will not have any LifeGroups, or children and student ministries until further notice. This is a change from what we said yesterday, but we feel this is the right decision under the circumstances we have been given. Next week, our pastoral team will gather and discuss future options as we learn more information on the extent of this emergency situation. We will continue to keep you updated through email, our website and other social media avenues. Thank you for understanding our decision making process.

As church leaders, it is our responsibility to do all we can to keep you safe. We ask that you pray for us as we make future decisions. We ask you to pray for our country and government leaders as they guide us as a nation through this time. We ask you to pray for our healthcare workers, that they will have strength and knowledge to deal with this outbreak. We ask that as Christians, you will use this time of crisis to share the love of Jesus with those around you. Be that person who shares your faith, shows His love and gives hope to those around you.

I will keep you updated with future plans for Eastside. Until then, we will see you online tomorrow morning!

Blessings,

John Hull
Lead Pastor
