Lead Pastor

Starting in December 2015, Dr. John Hull became Lead Pastor of Eastside Baptist Church. John grew up in Marietta and is a devoted UGA fan, graduating from UGA in 1980 with a bachelor’s in Journalism. In 1983 he graduated from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary where he earned a Master of Divinity degree.

John became the Founding Pastor at Mountain View Baptist Church, where his passion for reaching lost people and his concern for global ministry was born. From August 1993 to July 2000, John served as the Senior Pastor of People’s Church/Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Under his leadership he led a congregation of several thousand while broadcasting a nationally syndicated television ministry. It was during this time John received a Doctor of Ministry degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.

He caught the attention of America’s foremost leadership expert, writer and communicator, John Maxwell, who recruited him to become the President and CEO of EQUIP Leadership in 2000. Under John’s leadership, EQUIP trained over 6 million leaders in 177 countries with the curriculum in 67 languages. While leading EQUIP, Maxwell asked John to become the interim president of INJOY Stewardship Services in the summer of 2008. Leading both INJOY and EQUIP, John was responsible for over $20 million in revenue.

In September 2013, John became the Global CEO of Crossroad Global Media Group out of Burlington, Ontario, Canada. This included responsibility for Crossroad Christian Communications and General Manger of YES, TV, which broadcasts 100 Huntley Street, the longest running daily program in Canadian television history.
