We are asking persons to sign up for 30-minute slots for 72 hours to read the Bible aloud in the sanctuary.
HOW WILL THIS WORK?
You will enter the church at the Little Road Worship Center entrance. There will be a greeter/security person at the door to let you in and invite you to go to the sanctuary. People will sign up to read. There is no need to sign up if you wish to come and be still in the sanctuary and listen to the Bible readers at any time.
The reader will simply begin reading where the last person left off and continuing reading at their own pace. There will be two options for you, a podium and a table and chair set on the stage of the sanctuary facing the chancel area for readers to sit. Extra lighting, bottles of water, etc. will be made available. The person reading continues to read until the next reader comes and taps them on the shoulder and places are exchanged. This will allow for a continuous reading of God’s holy word.
We will begin at 7:30am on January 23 with the first chapter of Genesis and be finished reading the last chapter of Revelation to open the 9:30am worship service on January 26.
Readers can sign up by clicking the “Registration” button below. There will be persons available on Sunday mornings to assist with the sign-up. Lastly, a phone call or email to the church office where Bill Gray, Sallie Johnson or Nicole Gentry can assist with the sign-up is welcome.
Greeting and security volunteers can sign up for 2-hour slots in the Great Room or by calling/emailing Bill Gray. The responsibility of these persons is simply to be a person welcoming those who come in our doors and be additional persons present through the evening hours.
